The window handling is fully customizable and you can set up special rules for your favorite or most frequently used windows. ![]() WindowManager even allows you to lock the position and size of any window, so that it will always open at the same spot no matter where you move it. This is where WindowManager steps in and makes sure your windows are placed exactly where you want them every time you open them. Many programs don't remember their position and size between sessions and even Windows Explorer does not restore windows to their last position under Windows 7 or higher. And in reading, it is completely hit or miss for the 2 users it does work for and they are probably still running Windows XP.WindowManager helps you to improve your work flow by remembering and restoring the position and size of your programs and windows. I am not the only one complaining that the VW does not function. If anyone out there knows a reliable way to make it work, please let us know. Then there are other devolopers out there (AHEM) that do not care about their users and will publish any junky software they can hoping at least a few naive users will purchase their software to do something you already can for free. Believe it or not there are some software developers out there that do care what their users are saying and respond best they can to their wishes. Add Synergy and SpaceDesk and you are well beyond what DisplayFusion will ever be able to provide. And while DisplayFusion hasn't had a useful upgrade in eons, these other softwares continue to regurally publish updates to maintain compatibility with new OS versions and fix bugs/add features. I mean come on, the software doesn't even act like it's doing anything with VW like the buttons are there but there is no underlying code - it's just for appearance.įor those interested, "Video Wallpaper" and "Video Screensaver" on XDAForums, DualMonitorTools by GNE, WindowManager by DeskSoft, and "Icon Layout Saver" will do 95% of what DisplayFusion does and costs exactly zero dollars. The one that did play ran for 5 seconds, rebooted my computer and never worked again. I transcoded a 1 minute video using 12 codecs, each in 4 resolutions, and (almost) none will play. ![]() Read the forums and you will see there are still numerous error reports & problems with new Windows 10 builds, all of which are answered by (paraphrase) "Yes, we know and are actively working to determine the problem" which translates into English as "We know, we don't care, our programming skills are out-of-date and can no longer keep up with new OS releases, and last but not least, please keep sending us money." This cruddy software doesn't even display an error about the VW not working, it just shows a black screen and apparently thinks it's working fine. It is a shame when a quality, reasonably priced software such as this can not do as good of a job as free open-source solutions, even though they typically require some tech skills. Binary Fortress needs to remove any references to supporting VW immediately and keep it down until they fix the problem (which they probably have no interest in doing). There are enough posts about VW not working, that I have no doubt it was never anything except vapor-ware. Without this, it was money down the drain. The Video Wallpaper feature was the primary function I needed. I know this has been discussed already, but I have to express my extreme disappointment in this product. ![]()
